If you or your family member has a Honda Odyssey 2008-2009 minivan it may be one of the almost 46,000 that were recently recalled. There are concerns that the rear doors may be defective and can potentially harm users, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Wednesday.

The rear door gas-filled struts that help raise and support the lift gate may fail at times because of a manufacturing flaw. Two people have been injured because of the doors closing unexpectedly.

If your Honda Odyssey minivan is one that has been recalled, you will receive a letter from Honda. Dealers will replace the power lift gate and gas struts for free. The recall will begin around March 13, 2012.

The number of recalled vehicles has gone up over the years because of more complex vehicles and more vigilance.  Federal rules now require automakers to report more defect data, which protects you as a consumer from the risks of automobile defects.

Recalled vehicles are very dangerous and can be life-threatening.  If you have been the victim of a car recall incident, contact the Dallas product liability lawyers at Crowe Arnold & Majors, LLP today to get the justice you deserve for your pain and trauma.
