Accidents At Home
Common causes of summertime household accidents can include:
- Poisoning
- Drowning
- Choking
- Food allergies
- Accidental strangulation
- Electric shock
- Slips and falls
- Medication/prescription problems
- Carbon monoxide poisoning
There are times when accidents are truly unavoidable, such as someone having a first-time previously unknown food allergy response. But, for the most part, with careful planning and responsible home ownership, most dangers can at least be minimized.
Accidents on the Road
Most accidents on the road can be summed up under “carelessness.” Especially in the summer, when kids are out of school and outside on bikes, and more teen drivers who are less experienced are on the roads, there are simply more opportunities for car accidents to happen. It is important that everyone know and understand their responsibilities to share the road and avoid:
- Distracted driving
- Driving while impaired or sleep-deprived.
- Driving recklessly or with disregard for traffic laws.
Many work-related accidents can also be avoided with proper training, supervision, and care.
