During a recent trans-Atlantic flight, 15 people took ill in a possible case of food poisoning, officials told ABC News. The passengers on the plane had stomach cramps and were vomiting, which are signs of food poisoning.
Inspectors with the local health department and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention met Delta Flight 72 as it arrived at Kennedy International Airport in New York, airport officials said. The flight began in Istanbul, Turkey.
The passengers afflicted with food poisoning were interviewed and declined to be transported to a hospital for further treatment. Delta called for medical personnel to meet the flight after hearing passengers were feeling sick. Delta is looking into what may have caused these food poisoning reports.
