Recently a 28-year-old Texas store clerk was just standing behind the counter at work when a drunk driver drove through the wall and crashed into him.
A video of the accident shows Rajmish Kumar of Navasota, Texas was working the cash register at Hi Ho Store and Café when the 2001 Honda Passport came through the wall and sent him flying around 15 feet across the store. Kumar got up, walked out of the store and then collapsed, according to police.
Thankfully a nurse was nearby pumping gas. She saw the crash, called 911 and assisted Kumar, according to the Navasto Examiner. Kumar was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he received five staples on the left side of his head and other cuts and scars on his side and abdomen were treated.
Kumar moved to Texas 15 months ago from India. He has already returned to work, and still has some pain, but is happy overall.
Denise Wilson, a 36-year-old Navasota resident, has been charged in the accident. The police state that under the influence of alcohol, she pushed the accelerator instead of the brake when pulling into the store’s parking lot. She has been arrested for intoxication assault. She was released from jail after posting a $100,000 bond, the Examiner reports.
