A 43-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured in a car accident involving three vehicles. Officials say the driver of a westbound car veered left and struck the woman’s eastbound vehicle, which in turn hit another vehicle that was traveling east. The woman was killed in the crash, and the drivers of the other vehicles were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Some of the most devastating car accidents involve wrong-way collisions and head-on crashes. Whenever a vehicle veers or drifts into oncoming traffic, questions must be asked to determine fault and liability:
- Was the driver drowsy or asleep at the wheel?
- Was alcohol a contributing factor?
- Was the driver looking at a phone or driving distractedly?
- Did a defective auto part or roadway condition contribute to the crash?
If you or your loved one was the victim of a car accident, the at-fault driver can be held accountable for the losses suffered by your family. A wrongful death claim may result in compensation for medical bills, funeral expenses, lost future wages, pain and suffering and other related damages.
